CHATEAU DE FONTCREUSECASSIS |
Château de FONTCREUSE is an elegant masonry whose construction was completed in 1700. In this beginning of XVIIIe century, the residence profited from running water what was extremely rare at the time. Water came from underground sources which fed a gallery dug under the hill which provided out of water the Winegrowing and its dependences, which gave its Nom to Château “FONTCREUSE”. The property extends on 34 hectares of which 31 hectares are planted, 16 hectares for the wine White de Cassis, 9 hectares for the wine Rosé de Cassis and 6 hectares for the wine Red. It should be recalled that the color of reference for the Cassis appellation is before all Blanc; rare and single product in an area Provence accustomed to produce the Rosé one. For Blanc, the vintage 2011 is resulting mainly from Marsanne (60%), which brings delicate aromas, smoothness, the fleshy one and length in mouth, of Clairette (15%), which gives freshness as for Ugni Blanc (25%), it brings this delicate key of acidity essential to balance. The Rosé one at majority base of Grenache (80%) associated with Cinsault (20%) gives a wine of elegant nature with fullness and red fruit. You will be able to discover this Cassis blanc 2011, really superb, floral, suave, complex, all in aromatic persistence where delicate nuances of peach and pink are detected. The 2010 dense and are scented, fresh and suave at the same time, a very nice wine which releases from subtle aromas of almond and lime, all in harmony, of a full and floral final. The 2009 are very elegant, with the notes characteristic of hazel nut, a wine of beautiful robe, farm and suave mouth, very persistent, all in harmony, of a nice smoothness, all in distinction and richness at the same time. Taste Cassis rosé 2011, all in roundness, with the nose of small dried fruits (apricot), all in freshness, charmer. |
CHATEAU PONT LES MOINESBLAYE COTES-DE-BORDEAUX |

Traditional planted grape varieties of this area (70% Merlot, 30% Cabernet-Sauvignon), which produces coloured wines, robust and rounds in mouth. CHAMPAGNE ELLNER SASEPERNAY |
Founded at the beginning of 1900, The House Charles Ellner, is managed today by the 3rd generation whereas the 4th has already taken a very active part in it since several years. The family moved forward very fast and developed the company in a significant way, but was always very concerned about preserving the same family identity and know-how. For memory, at the beginning of the last century, Charles Emile Ellner founded the house. He was then assisted by is only son Pierre, with whom the adventure started. Pierre transmitted to his sons his passion for the vineyard and for wine. Michel more involved in the vineyard was very often standing by his father’s side building together today’s properties. He was followed by his two sons, Arnaud, the actual cellars master and Frederic, director of the vineyard. Jean-Pierre is now the President of the company. The vineyard covers a total surface of 50 hectares spread over 15 different locations providing us with a wide variety of grapes. The diversity, the richness; the smoothness of our cuvees, attest of our will to bring our Champagne to the top of the quality scale. The fidelity and confidence our customers grant us with , testify of the steadiness and the constancy of our champagne through out the years. Always in search of new opportunities, our company succeeded in developing its export markets representing today nearly 60 % of its sales. Here is a great Champagne Séduction Millésime 2006, 75 % Chardonnay, partially aged in old oak barrels, 25 % Pinot noir, dosage 6 g/l, where find themselves flowers and dried fruits, balanced well and harmonious, dense, of powerful mouth, in the subtle notes of citrus fruits, narcissus and toast, a distinguished, ample champagne, to plan on a sea bream in chanterelles or quenelles of poultry in spinach, in particular. The 2005, 69 % Chardonnay (Avize, Tauxières and Epernay) partially aged in old oak barrels, 31 % Pinot noir (Rilly, Epernay and Sermiers), dosage 6 g/l, very specific in this powerful vintage wine, a vintage of fresh and fruity exception, with a light foam and perfumed, delicate aromas with nuances of pink, broom and almond. Excellent brut Premier Cru (always majority Chardonnay), which develops a nose of fresh hazelnut, good mouth, involving distinction and curvature, a vinous champagne but at the same time everything in delicacy, a rich and perfumed, in the notes of soaked fruits. There is also this Champagne Prestige Millésime 2006 (72 % of Chardonnay selected on the vineyards of Moussy, Tauxières and Avize, 28 % of Pinot noir resulting from Epernay and from Moussy, dosage 8 g/l). No malolactic fermentation. A great wine of pale golden robe, in the green reflections, the vintage offering a fine and persistent bubble, which presents a beautiful complexity mixing the notes of white flowers and lemon to finish on subtle flavors of sweet almond due to a long ageing in cellar. A nervous champagne, which reveals one finale delicate smooth and silky. The 2005, 65 % Chardonnay (Avize, Chouilly and Tauxières), 35 % Pinot noir (Rilly-la-Montagne, Sermiers and Epernay), dosage 8 g/l, very attractive, in the aromas of pear and grilled hazelnut, light yellow robe in the golden reflections, a powerful and elegant wine at the same time, everything mouth, everything in finale. |

Indeed, Château d' Esteau existed already when Belleyme, geographer of Roi, traced the chart of Médoc in 1766. Since, the successions, the urbanization and, alas the wine crises reduced its surface but essence remains: 4 ha of a soil where the low register garonnaise prevails, gathered around the buildings what confers on the wines a single typicity. The plantation, of a matured density, makes the good share with the Cabernet-Sauvignon. One banished weeding them. All work of the ground is mechanical, the manual grape harvest what guarantees a pitiless sorting of the best bunches. The wine making is done in a traditional way, with a long cuvaison which ensures the extraction of the flavors, and ageing is carried out during 22 month on average, out of barrels of fine oak of Allier renewed at a rate of 30% per annum. Since 2009, Château d' Esteau produces a second wine, vintage7 & +, resulting mainly from its young vines, and in which the Cabernet-Sauvignon and the wooded one are marked. It results from it a true wine pleasure, very appreciated in the Parisian breweries where it is represented, and in the new countries consuming wine.
The whole explains this excellent Haut-Médoc 2012, with the notes of prune and underwood, of full and generous mouth, with firm and silky tannins at the same time, of color crimson, typified well, frankly tasty. Excels 2011, complex, with firm and silky tannins at the same time, a wine which mixes aromatic concentration and flexibility, with the flavors of spices and morello cherry, with, in mouth, of the nuances of candied fruits and underwood. “This 2011 (65% Cabernet-Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 5% frank Cabernet) has a color of average intensity, tells us Serge Playa, a wine with the fruity notes and smoke with the nose, attacks flexible, volume in mouth, a correct structure, a well balanced wine.” The 2010 are remarkable, at beautiful color supported crimson, with the notes of raspberry and cinnamon, of a great harmony, very scented, séveux, generous and persistent, to envisage on a cassolette of laugh and kidneys of calf to mustard, for example. Beautiful 2009, of a great classicism, garnet-red color, quite vigorous but very fine, with these blackcurrant and blackberry notes, which mix smoothness and frame. |

The property understands 24 ha of old vines on average from 15 to 20 years, exploited in agriculture of conservation.
“For 10 years, one specifies, we have used methods and natural products to treat our seedlings, to work our grounds, to support diversity between the rows… and to allow the vines to be reinforced for thus expressing itself fully. Besides our determination to preserve the richnesses of our soil and our will to respect our environment, we are convinced to improve of this way quality of our wines. Our creed: to produce a wine which combines modernity and classicism, elegance and smoothness while revealing specificities of each year so that each vintage expresses best fruit. After the difficult year 2012, for which the quality of the grapes did not seem to us worthy of our requirement and that we gathered the grapes with ground, therefore not produced, we wished to give even more attention to the fruits of our years 2013 and 2014 until in our wine storehouses. For two years, we have carried out alcoholic fermentations of more than half of each vintage directly out of barrels to integrate even more precociously and all carefully wood in ageing, to reduce the use of the pumps at the time them fermentations and thus to respect the integrity of the fruit; only barrels of Bordeaux (225l) for the 2013, but also some barrels of 400L for the year 2014 in order to optimize the compartmental selection. Then 100% of malolactic fermentations were carried out out of barrels. These two years are characterized by their color, very concentrated, and by the intensity of the expression of their entirely preserved fruit.” One has patience with this Haut-Médoc 2011, of powerful and dense mouth, with the nuances of raspberry, humus and liquorice, a constant and quite fleshy structure, of a tasty final, to envisage on a saddle of lamb to small frozen vegetables. The 2006 are richer, séveux with palate, the subtle (blackcurrant, humus), powerful but distinguished perfumes, with a very harmonious final. |

In 2013, certification Haute Valeur Environnementale level 3 comes to reward all these efforts as regards reasoned agriculture. “Year 2013: the wine still out of barrels, minor amount and drastic selection explain one year pleasant, harmonious, fine, tells us Nicolas de Courcel. Alain Geoffroy perpetuates an ancestral know-how (45 ha). He knew to surround himself by a team young and impassioned to make evolve and perennialize this splendid family inheritance: its wife, Cathy Geoffroy (managing director), his daughter, Nathalie (sales manager France), the person in charge of cellar, Cyrille Mignotte, and directing export, Pascal Sailley.
“The year 2013 was one year complicated, late, where volumes were extrèmement low, Alain Geoffroy tells us. May, cold and rainy let spin the inflorescences which are transformed partly into gimlet, then flowering was irregular, generating run-out. The vineyard had three weeks of delay and the nouaison occurred, it also, fairly well. Although September was superb, the grape harvest was late and of small quantity, - 40% compared to one year traditional, but the juices had very beautiful degrees and a beautiful balance between the high content in sugars and acidity. Chablis 2013, currently, are all in purity with citrus fruits notes, fruits with white flesh and sometimes of the crystallized lemon accents, wines fatty, full in mouth and of a beautiful aromatic complexity. In 2014, we made a beautiful vintage begun at the end of September under the sun. Weaker outputs (- 10 to 15%), due to the fresh temperatures at the time of flowering. One can predict of a pretty year, frankly, very fresh with floral notes. Sales in 2015: 2013, then 2014.” Alluring Chablis Premier Cru Vau-Ligneau 2012, with these connotations characteristic of the soil of small white flowers and honey of acacia, associating roundness and nervousness. Beautiful Chablis Premier Cru Fourchaume 2011, very characteristic of its soil, a great aromatic complexity (dried fruits, toast), very balanced, fatty in mouth, perfect on a roast white meat. the 2010, of a great classicism, very pleasant with these notes of ripe fruits and white flowers, is all in amplitude. Chablis Premier Cru Beauroy 2012, matured out of barrels of oak (vines from 30 to 45 years, ground kimméridgien, traditional wine making out of thermobabbited tanks and ageing out of tanks), of clear color, with this doubled floral freshness of fruity nuances, a very successful wine, where the fruits intermingle and read in mouth. the 2011 is distinguished, of a great classicism, marked by notes of ripe fruits and white flowers, all in amplitude. Very beautiful 2010, of pretty color, intense with the nose like in mouth, round and distinguished, combining promptness and sweetness, very pleasant on smoked salmon. There is also Chablis Vieilles Vignes 2012, full and fine, really tempting, of a pretty balance between its acidity and a small sucrosity, with the characteristic nose, of persistent mouth, to appreciate on a salmon with asparaguses, for example. Pretty Chablis, of a beautiful aromatic presence where nuances of lemon are found, and Petit Chablis, sharp and floral, of fresh mouth. Visit their museum of the vine and the corkscrew. |
